Life in the troglodyte village of Villaines-les-Rochers has been centred on basketrywork for centuries. The village represents the largest group of basketry workers in France. In a contemporary woven setting, the recent museum depicts both the traditional and modern aspects this craft. The five exhibit areas display a wealth of decorative and utilitarian objects, representing all the aspects of weaving with plants and willow growing, from their origins to the present day.

Traditional and contemporary basket-making know-how, heritage from the past, still existing today. Free visit.
