Trélazé is an emblematic town for slate mining in the Anjou region, and has preserved the traces of a past that has shaped its identity and urban development. Former extraction sites and built heritage make up a unique setting, now enhanced by discovery trails and cultural spaces. The Parc des Ardoisières, a vast natural setting created by this reconversion, offers astonishing landscapes where bodies of water with bluish reflections and spontaneous vegetation create an almost unreal atmosphere.

For several years now, the local authority has been committed to an ambitious approach to landscape and environmental transition. The greening of public spaces, the transformation of former industrial sites into islands of freshness, the planting of trees and the development of sustainable practices (eco-pasturing, natural meadows, etc.) all help to improve the quality of life. This dynamic is accompanied by the involvement of residents, who are invited to contribute to the flowering and beautification of their town.

Trélazé can be explored on foot or by bike, particularly along the Loire à Vélo cycle route, with its contrasts of working-class heritage, natural areas and contemporary initiatives. It's an original destination, where industrial history meets nature to create a resolutely forward-looking city.
