Théâtre de l’Èvre – Tu m’as rendu courageux

1943, Limoges. Léonard is a joiner in a carpentry workshop with Benjamin, his young 17-year-old colleague. In the middle of the Occupation, they are contacted by the Resistance. They and Léonard's wife Madeleine are forced to fight. They are needed.

In parallel with the show, there will be a thematic exhibition in the theatre garden. Free admission from 5pm to 8.30pm. Discussion after the show on war, fear, courage, necessity and resistance.

After a residency for the creation of the Théâtre de la Faucille's latest show at the Théâtre de l'Èvre in 2025, a chance conversation led us to discuss the subject of war, fear, courage, necessity and resistance after the performance of "Tu m'as rend courageux".

Aymeric Chauzat has written a semi-fictional story, rooted in its historical context, based on snippets of his family's story of involvement in the Resistance in Limoges. He turns it into an epic and tragic adventure, a tribute to the beauty of human relationships and the sacrifice of everyday people. It's lively, complete and we like it.

Tu m'as rendux courageux is a moving ode to all those people in the shadows, to all those who didn't go underground, who weren't among the first to resist but who, one day, took the plunge, whatever the cost.
