This rich and varied natural area is a paradise for flora and fauna, which find the ideal conditions to reproduce, feed and develop.
The Long-billed Plover: a protected species.
The Courance sandbank is home to a discreet and vulnerable migratory breeding species, the Red-necked Plover.
The beaches of Saint-Brevin-les-Pins are the last bastion of this species in Loire-Atlantique.
The protected zones, marked by stakes connected by a smooth wire, provide a haven of tranquillity. Unleashed dogs and walkers can inadvertently crush the eggs.
Crows, gulls and magpies are natural predators.
A walk you should take, with kindness and respect for our environment….because it’s worth it!
