Originally, this botanical park was intended to enable the exchange of plants with the Jardin des Plantes in Nantes. Unfortunately, this garden has fallen into decline, particularly due to the drastic standards governing the use of phytosanitary products.
Today, the area has been restructured and planted with perennials and grasses in a number of different settings. The garden was renamed “Parc du Littoral” in 2010, and has been listed in the Loire-Atlantique parks and gardens guide since 2012.
The plants are adapted to the living environment, making them easy to maintain and pleasant to flower. A children’s play area enhances the site, which offers a breathtaking view of the Saint-Nazaire bridge and the construction sites.
