But where do these works come from?
In the late 1990s, the local council invited the local sculptor Jean-Claude Lambert to design a monumental work to be displayed in public view. Given the enthusiasm shown by visitors for this new attraction, the decision was taken to organise a symposium every two years from 1999 onwards, at which five sculptors from around the world come to create a sculpture in the castle courtyard before exhibiting the results of their work in the town.

An extra touch of soul
Made of wood, stone, metal… the thirty or so works lend an artistic and dreamlike quality to your visit to this charming little town. The themes of the sculptures are varied, as the theme changes with each edition of the festival (theatre, the Middle Ages, light…).

A stroll through nature
The route offers a pleasant and poetic walk. You’ll pass through shaded parks, the marina and along the River Hâvre.

Combine it with a picnic
Picnic tables are provided so you can enjoy a picnic on site. Feel free to bring a picnic blanket to settle down on the grass! There are also plenty of benches where you can take a moment to admire the scenery and the artworks as you stroll along.

You can contact the Château d’Oudon visitor centre for further information.
Public toilets are available in the Parc de la Vallée.
