Running alongside the river for almost two kilometres, a long line of houses has given shape and picturesqueness to the Paimboeuf site.
Some of these houses were built in the seventeenth and eighteenth centuries as maritime traffic developed, and their appearance and importance reflect the various stages in the town’s history.
Whether they bear the traces of their former owners or their function, each could tell the story of the various changes that the site has undergone.
