MENHIR DE LA PIERRE ATTELÉE

1
The Pierre Attelée menhir takes its name from the fact that one owner, wanting to move this cumbersome stone, harnessed six pairs of oxen to make it fall. Despite this, he was unable to do so. This event marked the beginning of a series of misfortunes for the man, who died within the year. This menhir was christianised by the installation of a cross, which has now disappeared, the masonry base of which was visible at the end of the 19th century. It stands 2.90 m high and appears to be deeply embedded in the sand.Pets allowed
