A travelling cycle show along the River Loire, from its source to its mouth. By Nolwenn Jézéquel and Vincent Pensuet.

This is the story of a family cycling down the Loire. The father, the mother and their adult daughter, Louise, who is going through a rough patch. The show begins just as Louise has had a fall. The fork on her bike is broken. The family calls a repairman, who arranges to meet them at the foot of a contemporary artwork due to be unveiled along their route.

Whilst Louise waits alone for the repairman, a telephone placed at the centre of the artwork starts to ring. Louise picks up the receiver. On the other end of the line, an angry duck answers: the artwork has been placed on top of his nest! He needs to move his eggs!

As she ‘passes through’ the contemporary artwork, Louise is transported into a fantastical world, where nature takes on a life of its own and calls out to her. In the ducks’ nest, she finds an egg that nobody wants, which she will have to protect and save from the rising water. For a major flood has been forecast…

During her journey, she encounters an invasive water primrose, a microplastic in love with a cyanobacterium, a weary salmon, hyperactive Louisiana crayfish, a wandering spider, and a beaver who’s an expert dam-builder: all colourful characters who will open her eyes to the vulnerability of nature and the need to defend the river’s rights.
