Situated on the northern side of the Saint-Gatien cathedral, the Psalette cloister was the setting of Balzac’s Curé de Tours. Between Gothic and Renaissance, this building was the canons workplace. It features a beautiful spiral staircase that leads to the Scriptorium (1520). You can also visit the “bookshop”, a beautiful vaulted room that was completed in 1460 and the north gallery (1508), where a small oratory houses the fragments of a fresco.
