Journées du Patrimoine – Les Stalles de Blaison, délicieusement barbares

The choir stalls of the Collegiate Church of Saint-Aubin in Blaison form an exceptional set of 40 seats dating from the late 14th century.
These seats are richly decorated with nearly 200 carvings, including a large number of caricatured faces and monsters from the medieval bestiary, representing the final expressions of the so-called ‘barbaric’ era before the Renaissance.
