Launched 30 years ago on the initiative of former hemp growers from the Loire Valley, the Fibres en Musique festival showcases the methods of cultivating and processing this plant, which were practised in the region until the mid-1960s for the production of rope, textiles and more.
There will be entertainment throughout the weekend and a fireworks display on Sunday evening: a musical fireworks display sponsored by the town of Mauges-sur-Loire.
The musical fireworks display will take place this Sunday at 10.30 pm, opposite the festival site, just as it did last year. Following a decision by the prefecture, all vehicles will be prohibited from using the bridge between 9.30 pm and 10.50 pm! Diversions will be put in place by the town’s technical services.
