Francine Rebondy, from her home village of Chênehutte-les-Tuffeaux, followed the current to settle on the right bank of the river, in Ingrandes. Here, the Loire is a source of emotion and inspiration for her:
“As I wander along its banks, I rediscover the feelings of my childhood and uncover fascinating landscapes: delicate patterns in the sand, secretly sculpted by the current; wet or dry mud creating abstract scenes; foaming waves in a strong westerly wind… the river’s ever-changing beauty, shaped by the seasons and the light, which reveals itself to our eyes when the water consents to recede, raising the curtain, just like in the theatre...”
