The Comité des Fêtes is organising a folk soapbox race in La Pommeraye. This event gives participants the chance to build and drive handmade vehicles as part of a collective project based on recycling and sharing. The 500-metre circuit, secured by straw bales and barriers, is completely closed to traffic for the occasion.
Course of the day
- Morning: Drivers' briefing and technical inspection of vehicles from 7.30 a.m.
- Races: The cars start from 9.30am to 12pm, then from 2pm to 5pm.
- Closing ceremony: Prize-giving ceremony from 5.15pm, including a prize for the most unusual creation.
Entry requirements: The race is open to drivers aged 12 and over, with children aged 7 and over allowed to ride as passengers. To ensure safety, each body must have effective brakes, solid steering and weigh no more than 150kg. Places are limited: register before 1 June 2026 to guarantee your place (free registration)!
A refreshment bar and catering service will be available on site to welcome the public throughout the event.
