Having made his fortune, in 1886 he bought the Château de Parnay and developed the "Clos Cristal" in Champigny and the famous "Clos des Murs" in Parnay. The vines here benefit from a favourable exposure, modulated by parallel walls: the vines grow in the cool north, while the foliage in the south benefits from maximum sunlight and the heat stored by the walls, optimising the ripening of the grapes.
