From 27 June to 23 August 2026, as part of the Art & Chapels in Anjou tour, come and explore Les Mauges between the Loire and Èvre through 6 chapels inhabited by the works of 6 artists:
- Chapelle des Galloires and Jean-Denis Maysonnave - Drain
- Chapelle Sainte Apolline and François Rayneau - Drain
- Chapelle de Beaulieu and Michèle Gosnet Frassetto - Liré
- Chapel of Sainte Avoye and Paolo Cardona - Saint-Rémy-en-Mauges
- Chapel of the Enfeu Sainte Sophie and Rose Lecompte - Bouzillé
- Chapel of Château de la Bourgonnière and Dominique Jullien - Bouzillé
The chapels are open
- Fridays from 2pm to 7pm
- Saturdays, Sundays and public holidays from 10am to 1pm and from 2pm to 7pm
(The Bourgonnière chapel will be closed on Saturday 22 August)
Each chapel has an interpreter on hand to help visitors explore the site.
Not forgetting a musical highlight: a concert on Saturday 22 August at 5pm in the church of Liré with the Kazykin duo.
Every summer for the past 20 years, the Art et Chapelles association has been organising a tour of contemporary art in Maine-et-Loire chapels. The aim is to bring religious heritage back to life by combining it with contemporary art. This year's tour runs from 28 June to 24 August 2025, in the Chemillois and Choletais regions, between Chemillé-en-Anjou and Lys-Haut-Layon. It will take in the towns of Chemillé, Saint-Georges-des-Gardes, La Tourlandry, Coron, Saint-Hilaire-du-Bois and Le Voide.
