The wood is located in the heart of the town, near the sports complex.
The plantations (maritime pines and common oaks) date back to 1850, and the young replantations at the edge of the pines date back 35/40 years.
The areas are managed naturally by the local council, with the grass shredded 3 or 4 times a year.
The Bois de la Saulzaie hosts the annual children’s fair and sports courses. Historically, this park belonged to the Testard de Marans family, who were prominent members of the town.
