Immerse yourself in the fascinating world of wax and leave with a unique creation!
Looking for a fun, educational activity for your children near Angers or Cholet? The Musée des Métiers de Saint-Laurent-de-la-Plaine, in the heart of Mauges-sur-Loire (49), invites curious youngsters to become real apprentice waxmakers during a creative workshop.
On the programme for this sensory experience:
-Awakening the senses (20 min): An immersive visit to the waxmaker's workshop to discover the secrets of wax. Where does it come from? How was it processed in the past? Children explore the uses of this noble material and learn the specific vocabulary used by craftsmen.
Hands-on: it's time to get hands-on! Using modelling wax, children create their own candles.
Seasonal creativity: The design evolves with the seasons, offering an ever-changing experience (flowers in spring, pumpkins in autumn, fir trees in winter...).
Each child develops their fine motor skills and leaves proudly with their own personalised candle at the end of the session.
From 3 to 8 years old. Children must be accompanied by an adult.
