A testament to Neolithic engineering, the Dissignac burial mound, a listed historic monument, is one of the most remarkable and oldest sites in the region. Built around 4300 BC by farming communities, it contains two megalithic tombs, each comprising a chamber preceded by a long, narrow access corridor. One of the chambers has a cover slab decorated with intriguing engraved symbols (sticks, axes, sperm whale, etc.). During the summer, visit this funerary monument in very small groups to discover the talents and mysteries of Neolithic society.
