As part of the “Les Préférences” festival from 24 to 28/09
In the last century, ten fragments of Aeschylus’ “Niobe” were found. No one was able to date them, understand the plot or reconstruct the poem. A few years later, archaeologists in Italy discovered a series of Etruscan vases on which were painted scenes from the same tragedy, recreated in Rome after the death of Aeschylus. This was the start of a major investigation into the text, which I discovered through a wealth of academic writings in Germany, Italy, England and France. The myth and the fragments moved me; I had them translated.
I immersed myself in the work of Aeschylus, in mythology, in our collective memory and in my own individual memory.
And then I write.Visiting languages:French
