Amandine, an agri-food technician and agricultural engineer with a passion for aquatic crops, invites you to discover how spirulina (a blue-green micro-algae or cyanobacteria) is grown directly at the SpirAL farm in Les Sables.
Spirulina has many benefits for our bodies, and is the most complete food after breast milk. The first evidence of consumption of this nutritional treasure dates back to ancient times among the Aztecs.
Spiral des Sables spirulina is grown in Anjou, near Saumur, in Varennes-sur-Loire. It grows in fresh, warm, alkaline water, in tanks protected from the elements by a greenhouse.
Spirulina is a seasonal crop, as it needs warmth and sunshine, and is harvested from April to October. Farm-grown spirulina, 100% French, 100% superfood, 100% well-being.
