For three generations, the Martin de Candre traditional soap factory has been perpetuating its unique know-how in saponification. To this day, it is one of the last soap factories in France to use the "hot mashing" process, which transforms the fats in vegetable oils into soap. The soap is made on site, in a baker's mixer, using high-quality vegetable oils. The fragrances that perfume our soaps are the unique and original creations of the MdC soap factory. You'll be amazed by the charm of the boutique-exhibition, where you'll find a wide variety of toiletries (Marseille-style soaps, shaving soaps, shampoos, etc.). All our solid and liquid soaps are natural, skin-friendly and 100% biodegradable.
Each stage in the soap-making process is revealed in a slide show of photos and videos in the "Quand le Savon fait sa Pub" museum. The museum is also dedicated to early soap advertising, with a fabulous collection of posters dating from 1860 to 1969.
