It perpetuates the mission of the Museum of the Resistance, Deportation and Liberation in Loir-et-Cher since 8 May 1995. Founded on the fiftieth anniversary of the Nazi surrender and on the initiative of former Resistance fighters and deportees from the Loir-et-Cher, its purpose was to preserve the memory of the dark years that saw the defeat of France and its occupation.
