‘Le Grand Logis’, a 16th-century mansion with a turret, transports you to the heart of the Renaissance – a glorious period in French history – through the eyes of the Angevin poet Joachim Du Bellay. An immersive experience of the poet’s era, life and work. The rooms, decorated in the style of the period, evoke the poet’s wonderful journey from the Loire Valley in Anjou to Rome. Why not take the opportunity to try your hand at Renaissance calligraphy using a real quill pen!
Children are invited to explore the museum in a fun way, either with a activity booklet to complete or via two digital trails using the Baludik app (tablets available to borrow at the museum).
Enjoy a packed programme of events, rich, varied and tailored to different audiences throughout the year. Do take a look at the website for details.
