# ARTE: KANDINSKY
Wednesday 11 February at 3pm

How music profoundly inspired and infused the work of Vassily Kandinsky (1866-1944), a pioneer of abstraction. A sensitive exploration of the avant-garde painter's world.

At a time when the Philharmonie de Paris is devoting an exhibition to him, this sensitive documentary explores the world of Vassily Kandinsky through his passion for music, which never ceased to inspire and infuse his work. Informed by the insights of musicologists and art historians - including Angela Lampe, curator of the Centre Pompidou's modern art collections - it plunges into the world of this major 20th-century artist who lived through wars and revolutions while fighting to reinvent painting.
