Mathieu Cheptou

Since 2018, Matthieu Cheptou has taken up beekeeping and manages a small number of hives to produce honey. His special feature is that he rents out other hives to businesses and local authorities within a 50 km radius of Montrevault. These tenants receive 100% of the honey produced, around 7 kg per hive, and can watch the harvest. Matthieu produces two types of honey: spring honey and all-flower honey. In addition to his work as a beekeeper, he teaches schoolchildren about the crucial role of bees, explaining how they are organised and the different functions they perform throughout their lives.
