The world of contemporary artist Richard Rak is revealed in the mineral serenity of his troglodytic gallery at the Manoir de la Caillère.
At the heart of this labyrinth carved out of the rock, the artist chooses to live and create. Here he distils a parallel reality, a world within a world, a strange, jubilant universe. In the 400 m2 of this maze, he cultivates cabinets of pathological curiosities and compulsive accumulations, sets traps for our convictions, concocts potions of humour and contraries of boredom. Visitors suffering from a lack of direction will find poetic refuge and humanitarian relief.
