This building, which can be seen from many points in Nantes, is the second housing unit designed by the famous architect.
Completed in 1955, it followed the one in Marseille and preceded the one in Berlin.
Inspired by the modular principle and the golden ratio, Le Corbusier developed his construction system here, which involved building flats inside a framework of reinforced concrete posts and beams. A revolutionary principle that has become commonplace over the last few decades, this building is built on stilts, with a façade that features balconies and light windows, and flats that are always bathed in sunlight.
