LES PONTS-DE-CÉ

1
A town reflecting the power of the mighty Loire The topography of the region is defined by the mighty Loire and nowhere is this more evident than at Les Ponts-de-Cé, located on the outskirts of Angers, in the UNESCO World Heritage Site. This historic village is really a chain of small islands, carved by the whimsical river. Moving from one neighbourhood to another is like reading an open book of local history that owes so much to the river. Nearby, the castle of King René, listed as an ancient monument, houses an outstanding museum of head dresses (600); this fascinating exhibit is installed in the keep tower. Throughout the year, the museum also hosts temporary exhibitions and topical events.Pets allowed
