Le portrait dans tous ses états

The Médiathèque de Chambray-lès-Tours is hosting an exhibition by Nathalie and Philippe Body entitled “Le portrait dans tous ses états” (“The portrait in all its states”). Nathalie and Philippe Body examine this photographic genre, in which the artist is as much involved as the model. The authors pose couples with their official wedding photos in their hands, set up a studio in an ethnic market in Vietnam, and invite complete strangers to have their portraits taken. I see you, look at me. Using the images as an extension, a natural frame, Nathalie creates collages, including photographs, press clippings, textiles and various materials.
