The Middle Ages in Mauges-sur-Loire: a disappeared heritage? A talk by Ronan Durandière, heritage inventory researcher at the Maine-et-Loire Departmental Heritage Conservation Office, and Marie-Charlotte Cavaca, heritage inventory researcher at Mauges-sur-Loire. We regularly hear that the Mauges no longer has any vestiges of its medieval heritage. Although, as elsewhere, this heritage has suffered from destruction and remodelling throughout the ages, the Heritage Inventory currently being carried out in the new commune of Mauges-sur-Loire is revealing a particularly rich history during the Middle Ages, which can sometimes be traced back to written and iconographic sources, but also to field studies.Visiting languages:French
