Why do things from the past or old melodies still have an effect on us today?
Passing on these vanished moments, these vanished images, these evaporated immaterial sounds (this "angels' share" as the oenologists say), perhaps allows us to nourish the little sips of the present with a new flavour and density.
By combining music from the seventeenth century (Marais, Forqueray, Bach, Goodal, Hume, etc.) with recent texts recalling fleeting moments (Bobin, Gracq, Proust, Quignard, poets, etc.) on a rare instrument that has stood the test of time, the gambist and narrator hope to revive and give a taste of the messages of those other voices of yesteryear, which link us as much to the earth as to the "different regions of heaven".
