Exposition : la peinture en scène, Olivier Debré

For the first time with La peinture en scène, Olivier Debré?s works are presented not in the white gallery, as the art center?s public is accustomed to, but in the black gallery, a space more directly evocative of the theatrical atmosphere inherent in stage curtains. The exhibition is organized along four axes, embodying the four stage curtains created by the artist: the Comédie-Française theater (Paris, 1987), the Hong Kong opera (1989), the Abbesses theater (Paris, 1996), the Shanghai opera (1998). For obvious reasons, the CCC OD will not be showing the stage curtains, but will be concentrating on the “maquettes” or “esquisses” produced.
