Raoul Vaslin is “alive”!
A humanist photographer who died too young, Raoul Vaslin would have been 80 in 2025.
Born in Nantes in 1945, he spent his childhood and much of his life in Champtoceaux. As a member of the “Club photographique de Paris”, he met Robert Doisneau and Willy Ronis. Between 1974 and 1976, he captured on film the daily lives of the inhabitants of his village on the banks of the Loire.
Over the course of his career, he produced several series in black and white (“Fanny”, “Rives et Brouillards”, “Portraits”, “Formes & Lumières”, a study of the nude).
This mirror exhibition of artists from different disciplines pays tribute to him, presenting works that echo a selection of original silver prints.
