This slightly lower church was once an integral part of the castral enclosure: its choir corresponded to the castle?s former chapel, built in the 13th century and later extended by a nave. It was only at the end of the 19th century, in 1886-87, that the chapel underwent a major reconstruction and enlargement that gave it its current appearance.
