This estate carries on the family tradition on a 22-hectare vineyard planted on the hillsides of Turquant, Parnay and Montsoreau, overlooking the Loire. Domaine des Frémonclairs has 6 Protected Designations of Origin: Saumur Champigny, Saumur Blanc, Coteaux de Saumur, Crémant de Loire, Cabernet d'Anjou and Saumur Rosé. The red and rosé wines are made from the Cabernet Franc grape variety, while the whites are made from Chenin. Chardonnay is blended with Chenin for our Crémant de Loire Blanc.
The vines are grown according to the principles of sustainable viticulture. The Frémonclairs estate has HVE certification and is an active participant in the biodiversity programme run by Saumur Champigny producers.
The vines are planted with grass and the hedges are used to develop microbial life.
Traditional vinification techniques are used to develop red fruit aromas and silky, velvety tannins.
