In 1722, Louis de Béthune bought the château from the Roffignacs, and since then it has remained in the hands of the same family through female lineage (Béthune families, then Masseran, Saint Sauveur, Schneider, and today Brissac). Listed as a Monument Historique since 1989, the former stables now house a carriage museum and an immersive history trail. A walk along the ramparts affords fine views of the village and the Allier River.
