The jewel of the Corniche Angevine, this 1858 Romanesque-Byzantine chapel, formerly the miners’ church, stands proudly on the road between Chalonnes sur Loire and Rochefort sur Loire.
The surrounding area is home to a number of mining sites, including the Malécots at Ardenay and Chaudefonds-sur-Layon, where the headframe has been rebuilt. Take in the view from the headframe and enjoy an uninterrupted view of the Layon vineyards.
