The Charcé picnic area, with its 4 tables, benches and litter bins, is a peaceful place to picnic along the banks of the River Aubance, which once had a dozen flour mills on its banks. From the 1960s to the present day, the Aubance has been completely recalibrated and has 12 locks to regulate its flow while protecting it from flooding and drying up.
