Based at Saumur aerodrome, the Saumur glider flying club (ACPVVS) operates two SF 25 motorgliders, offering a perfect compromise between powered and unpowered flight. These aircraft can be flown at any time of year and can be used for long circuits in complete autonomy. They are perfectly suited to training pilots and discovering the natural riches of the Saumur region. INTRODUCTORY FLIGHTS Introductory flights are an ideal opportunity to discover the third dimension and try your hand at flying. An extraordinary gift for yourself or a loved one, they allow you to fly over the Saumur region and discover it from a new angle. You’ll fly in the company of highly qualified instructors, on board regularly serviced machines. What does this flight include? If you choose the introductory flight, you’ll receive a pre-flight briefing, followed by a flight lasting between 20 minutes and 2 hours, depending on the option you choose. The loan of headphones is included. What should you bring? We strongly recommend that you wear sunglasses and headgear during your flight. How much does an introductory flight cost? The price is €120 for a flight lasting around 20 minutes. For longer flights, please consult the price list. This price includes all the services mentioned above, at no extra charge. As an option, you can choose a video to take home as a souvenir of this unforgettable moment. When and how do I pay for the flight? Payment can be made by bank transfer, cheque or cash, at the customer’s convenience. ONE-WEEK COURSES One-week courses allow you to discover the basics of flying or to improve your skills. For five days, you will receive briefings on the different flight procedures, the principles of aeronautics and how to fly the aircraft. Daily flights will then be organised, depending on the weather conditions, so that you can enjoy the pleasures of flying for longer. OUR FLEET All about our motor gliders In the 1960s, a German glider manufacturer had the idea of adding an engine to one of their gliders, giving birth to the SF-25. The Scheibe SF-25 Falke (or Falcon in English) is a German touring motorglider developed in the early 1960s. It made its first flight in 1963 (SF-25A Motor Falke) and was followed by numerous variants (SF-25 A/B/C/D/E and K). The SF-25E was extended to 18 metres (compared with around 15 metres for the other versions), and the SF-25B had lowered wings. These motorgliders, or gliders with built-in take-off gear, have a closed cockpit with two seats side by side. Their wood-and-canvas design gives them a weight of around 400 kilograms and a glide ratio of 22. Their flight envelope is between 75 and 190 km/h (VNE) in calm air and up to 150 km/h in turbulent air. Designed primarily for training purposes, these aircraft are ideal for learning to fly and improving your skills. Our fleet includes two SF-25s: an SF-25C (F-CHCF) and an SF-25D (F-CHCY), which is also a tug. AIRCRAFT MAINTENANCE Our aircraft are inspected very regularly and with the utmost rigour. In-depth maintenance is carried out every 50 flying hours. In addition to compulsory maintenance, our team meets frequently for cleaning and routine checks.Spoken languages :English, French
