29 ÈME FESTIVAL DE FIBRES EN MUSIQUE À MONTJEAN-SUR-LOIRE

De Fibres en Musique is a meeting of cultures and generations. Created 29 years ago on the initiative of former hemp growers in the Loire Valley, it shows how hemp was grown and processed in the region up until the mid-1960s to make rope, textiles and ….. Now a new era has dawned, and hemp is making a comeback with new outlets, providing an opportunity to find out a little more… And about other fibres… The festival takes over the charming Loire village with musical and street entertainment, workshops, an eco-bio and craft market, hemp-working demonstrations, catering, a Loire flotilla, wooden games and fireworks! A must-see event for thousands of visitors! PROGRAMME : Saturday : 8.30am-9.30am : Harvesting and mowing hemp (Lieu dit Bel-Air, Levée d’Ingrandes) 9h30-11h : Harvesting and mowing hemp (Quai du Saumon, Montjean-sur-Loire) 2pm-8pm: – Demonstrations of traditional hemp-making and rope-making techniques – Au fil de l’eau” workshops: Learn how to make Brazilian bracelets & dreamcatchers, windsocks, macramé weaving. Open to all, places limited / €2 – Biodiversity workshop: Come and discover the fauna and flora of the banks of the Loire with the Conserv-Action association: observe the migratory birds that stop over in the Loire, identify the traces and clues left in the sand, colour in the naturalist’s drawings. – Flotille de Loire: Exhibition and sailing of futereaux and toues by the Loire & Marine association. – Wooden games – Eco-bio and craft market 2pm-11pm : Bar / Catering on the banks of the Loire Vegetarian salads made with hemp oil, grilled meats, chips, fouaces, yoghurts, etc. Option to eat in or take away. 6pm-1am: Musical and street entertainment Sunday : 10am-7pm : -Eco-bio and craft market -Loire fauna and flora workshop 10am-11am: Walk to discover the biodiversity of the Loire by reservation: 06 43 81 59 86 (duration: 1h) 11h15-12h : Induction into the Confrérie des chanvriers du Val de Loire 12pm-9.45pm: Bar and restaurant on the banks of the Loire Vegetarian salads made with hemp oil, grilled meats, chips, fouaces, yoghurts, etc. Option to eat in or take away. 2pm-7pm: Demonstrations of old-fashioned hemp-making, retting, grinding, combing, rope-making, etc. – Musical and street entertainment – Au fil de l’eau” workshops: Learn how to make Brazilian bracelets and dreamcatchers, windsocks and macramé weaving.
