The day will be devoted to :
– hedgerows, living and remarkable monuments of the strips of land bordering the Loire;
– trognes, rich sculptural ecosystems;
– plesses, which tell the story of our interweaving and interdependence with the trees, plants, fruit and insects that live here with us;
– And finally, the faggots, a reminder that care and restoration are possible.
We invite you to join Julie Bonnaud and Fabien Leplae in planting an undulating hedge of dry, living faggots. We also invite you to discover La nappe’s research and share a hot broth.
Programme:
– 10am – 1pm and 2.30pm – 5pm – Collective planting* (in French)
Collective planting of a hedge led by two artists, Julie Bonnaud and Fabien Leplae. Come and get your hands in the soil. Whether you’re a beginner or a seasoned gardener, you’re more than welcome to join in the fun. Bring your gardening gloves and warm clothes!
*Many thanks to the Ancenis-Saint-Géréon commune, the Écomusée de la Vallée, the LPO and Bretagne Vivante, not forgetting the MAT crew, for their support and involvement.
– 1pm to 2.30pm – Shared picnic and performance by La nappe
Camille Orlandini and Corentin Massaux propose a convivial moment over a tasty broth that can be complemented by your own quiches, cakes and other dishes to share. You’ll also be able to leaf through two new publications: the first about research at La Générale – maison du projet in the Caserne Mellinet in Nantes, and the second produced in collaboration with Éditions Paris-Brest at Factotum / Petites Écuries in Nantes.
– 3pm to 6pm – Free visit of a living exhibition
L’haleine de la rivière (The Breath of the River) is a multi-faceted exhibition that unfolds like a breath, the breaths of the river, the beaver, the heron, the dragonfly, the swallow, the frog or the eel… The guiding principle of this exhibition and trail project is to consider the river as a living organism made up of living beings. It invites visitors to observe the Loire at Les Ursulines alongside artists, collectives, local players and higher education establishments.
At the MAT in Ancenis-Saint-Géréon and on Île Mouchet.
Free admission – Open to all.
