It was erected in 1847, nine years after the one on Place de la Concorde in Paris. On the face of it, there are no Egyptian references in Rouans. For those who want to be observant, there are no hieroglyphs in sight!
On this unusual calvary, you can see places for three statues, those of :
the Blessed Virgin
Saint Joseph,
Saint Martin.
But one of the religious figures has disappeared. One more mystery…
