Dom Juan

Dom Juan is nowhere to be found. Accused of flight and treason by the family of his betrothed Dona Elvire, a manhunt begins. Sganarelle, Dom Juan’s best friend and servant, tries to reason with him during their journey to save him from certain death. After Les Fourberies de Scapin and L’Avare, Dom Juan is Tigran Mekhitarian’s 3rd production of a Molière text. The original text, which has always been preserved and respected, is projected onto the stage in a world that reflects the urban codes of rap and hip-hop. The music, dance, expressions and clothing styles of our time become the setting that sublimates the text. But the real modernity of Tigran Mekhitarian’s work lies in his ability to treat the language of Molière with the ardour and flow of today’s phrasing. Improv, rap and the energy of French youth, who find their identity in urban codes, are at the heart of the production. Advance ticket price: €10 (until 27 March inclusive).
