BIÔWA

Before he died, young Ayédou’s father made one wish: that he should become the village Vodoun priest, as has been the family tradition for generations. But Ayédou has other aspirations. He wants to go to Cotonou, the big city, and become a singer. So he decides to set off alone, despite his young age, in search of his dream. To share this story, Biôwa combines music, drawings and cartoons on stage. The music of Benin, generously brought to the stage by the BIM -Benin International Musical- meets the sensitive and colourful world of comic book writer Fabien Toulmé. The aim is to conjure up imaginary worlds and to speak delicately of heritage, destiny, modernity and tradition. Show in partnership with MIXT, terrain d’arts de Loire-Atlantique
