[Noël en Grand Sancerrois] Les Chavans chantent Noël

A concert of Christmas carols by the Bourbonnais group La Chavannée. Every year, the Chavans sing “La fleur des Noëls”, a selection of carols from central France. The 45-strong choir in traditional costume is accompanied by harmonium, hurdy-gurdy, flutes and bagpipes. “La Fleur des Noëls” evokes the songbooks sold by peddlers over several centuries. A tradition of quest songs during Advent is attested in the Bourbonnais until the 19th century.
