Exhibition at Chambord – Two Florentine masterpieces. The Domaine national de Chambord is celebrating the Italian Renaissance with the presentation of La Vierge à l’Enfant avec le jeune saint Jean-Baptiste, a painting recently attributed to Botticelli?s workshop and previously exhibited in the church of Saint-Félix in Champigny-en-Beauce (Loir-et-Cher). Currently hanging in the château?s chapel, this oil on canvas now faces a Florentine mosaic created around the same period by Davide Ghirlandaio (1452?1525). Brother of Domenico Ghirlandaio (1449?1494), founder of the family workshop, Davide was both a painter and a mosaicist.Spoken languages :French, English
