Steeped in history and full of remarkable buildings, Gien promises an exciting journey through time and the Loire. From the Alix house to the remains of the 14th-century ramparts, to the Church of St Joan of Arc, the town of Anne de Beaujeu can be toured independently or with a guide throughout the year. This year, the castle is under renovation but many activities are offered by the tourist office from June to September 2015 , as part of its “1 day – 1 activity” scheme, such as themed tours and arts workshops (mosaic, painting on ceramics, etc.). For more information and to book, contact the Tourist Office.
