In addition to its choir, a true jewel, the Notre-Dame abbey has preserved many of the local Romanesque architecture. Very popular for its acoustics and its unique atmosphere, the abbey church hosts every year many musical events including the Festival de Sully et du Loiret, one of the biggest classical music events in France. Among the significant events in the history of the abbey was the Council of 1152, which annulled the marriage of King Louis VII of France with Eleanor of Aquitaine.Home groups:yes
